Here’s step one of finding the circumference of an ellipse. Before I get into the full derivation, I must acknowledge few key helpers along my journey. Firstly, I would not be here without the support of my friends and family, specifically a family friend John, who is my mentor and who also keeps me sane through the long nights of math. This was derived with the help of the integral calculator, and it couldn’t have been done without it. I came up with the integration method, but knowing that the component expressions were integrable, as well as how to integrate expressions like this so that I could break down a generalized formula, turned this from an nearly impossible endeavor to something that was only a matter of time. Please read the previous blog posts for the follow up ideas, and see if you can figure out where this is going! (https://www.integral-calculator.com/)
